Job DescriptionSalary: $27 per hour

Position Summary: Visin y Compromiso (VyC) is dedicated to improving community health and well-being. We are seeking a compassionate Promotora(or) Comunitaria(o) Level 2 to conduct outreach, lead educational workshops, and facilitate wellness activities focused on mental and behavioral health challenges for families in the San Fernando Valley.

Position Status: Regular, Full Time

Effective Date: September 2025 (ending on or before August 2026)

Location: The person in this position works full-time from different worksites in the Coachella Valley and across Riverside County.

Required Travel: Ability to travel locally and up to 100 miles throughout Riverside County.

Schedule: 40 hours per week. Variable work schedule including shifts on weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities:

Outreach and Education:

• Identify and secure locations for workshops and wellness activities.
• Conduct outreach to inform community members about available resources in culturally relevant ways.
• Engage with children and families through wellness workshops aimed at emotional and social development.

Workshop Facilitation:

• Lead mental health workshops for parents and caregivers to strengthen parenting skills and promote resilience.
• Connect families with community resources related to behavioral and mental health services.

Record Keeping and Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of outreach and educational activities.
• Ensure compliance with program goals and participate in required training sessions.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years working with bilingual Latino communities.
• Experience conducting outreach and providing community health education.
• Proven background in delivering educational workshops tailored for adult learners.

Skills:

• Understanding of mental health principles and ability to design engaging workshops for children and families.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to link community resources to participant needs.
• Proficiency in leading discussions and presentations in both English and Spanish.

Language Skills:

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Ability to communicate effectively with children and families at their developmental level.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, with empathy and respect.

Computer Skills:

• Basic proficiency in word processing, email, and presentation software.
• Familiarity with virtual meeting platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams) for conducting workshops and outreach.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to move between multiple work environments, remaining stationary up to 50% of the time.
• Must be able to lift outreach materials weighing up to 20 pounds.

Work Environment:

• Primarily field-based, traveling to community locations including libraries, community centers, and schools.
• Exposure to outdoor elements while engaging with community members.
