Job Details:

• 2 years of nursing experience required with travel experience required
\n• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
\n• First week of orientation will be 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (3x12s)
\n• Must be comfortable working with the prison population
\n• Patient ratios: 2:1 ICU, 3:1 Stepdown
\n• Float required to medical-surgical acuity if necessary with 1:4 ratio
\n• 6 weekend shifts per contract required
\n• 12 hours of orientation
\n• Care for adult and geriatric patients
\n• Daily census of 8 patients with average census of 5-6
\n• Must have experience assisting with bedside procedures
\n• Security guards expected to have patient in sight when nurse enters room
\n• Floating expected to ER (tasks only or sitter), Med-Surg floors (no more than 4 patients), Post Partum (lesser acuity patients only)
\n• Unit cares for both ICU and Stepdown level acuity patients
\n• Patient diagnoses include sepsis, dialysis, complicated surgeries, post cath, DKA, respiratory failure, stroke, MI, esophageal varices
\n• Procedures requiring conscious sedation, rapid response and code blue team participation
\n• CPI certification can be obtained at facility within 30 days
\n• Tennessee state license or multi-state compact license required
\n• HealthStream approvals required 12 days prior to start

The facility specializes in treating complex medical conditions including sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac events, and post-surgical complications. The unit features interdisciplinary support services including respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy services. The facility maintains a lower acuity patient population compared to larger hospitals while still providing specialized critical care services.
