We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Sonographer to perform portable diagnostic ultrasound examinations in patients’ homes. The sonographer will travel to patient locations and perform studies such as general ultrasounds, echocardiograms, and venous Doppler exams using portable ultrasound equipment. This role requires strong technical ability, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work independently in a mobile environment. We provide all equipment for you to be successful.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform portable ultrasound examinations in patients’ homes and other non-clinical settings.

  • Conduct a variety of ultrasound studies including general diagnostic ultrasound, echocardiograms, venous Doppler, and other vascular studies.

  • Prepare and operate portable ultrasound equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Ensure proper patient positioning and explain procedures to patients to ensure comfort and cooperation.

  • Acquire high-quality diagnostic images for physician interpretation.

  • Maintain accurate patient records and exam documentation.

  • Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines.

  • Maintain and care for portable ultrasound equipment during transport and use.

  • Communicate effectively with physicians, healthcare staff, and patients.

Qualifications:

  • ARDMS, CCI, or ARRT certification required.

  • Valid certification in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiac Sonography.

  • Experience performing echocardiography and vascular studies (including venous Doppler) preferred.

  • Ability to operate portable ultrasound equipment independently.

  • Strong interpersonal and patient care skills.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to patient homes.

  • Current BLS/CPR certification preferred.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in mobile ultrasound services or home health settings.

  • Knowledge of multiple ultrasound specialties (abdominal, vascular, cardiac).

  • Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment.

Work Environment:

  • Travel to patient homes or assisted living facilities.

Compensation:
Compensation is competitive and based on experience. Mileage reimbursement and flexible scheduling may be available.
