Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, active SLP license and 1+ year of Speech-Language Pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position based in La Porte, IN, offering a 35-hour workweek throughout the 26-27 school year on an onsite contract basis. The role is centered around providing comprehensive speech and language therapy services within a school setting, addressing a diverse range of student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver targeted speech-language therapy focusing on assistive technology, augmentative communication, social language skills, articulation, voice, oral-motor function, feeding, and receptive and expressive language delays.
- Conduct diagnostic and evaluation testing to assess student needs accurately.
- Prepare detailed, insightful reports following student assessments and observations.
- Work effectively with students experiencing moderate to severe disabilities, ages 2 to 22 years.
- Develop and maintain Individualized Education Program (IEP) objectives tailored to each student.
- Collaborate and communicate proactively with parents and team members regarding student progress and necessary interventions.
Qualifications:
- Must hold or be eligible to hold an Indiana Professional License (IPLA) and a teaching license from the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE).
- Preferably 1 to 2 years of experience as an SLP, ideally in school settings.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills to adapt to the varying needs of students.
