Job Description

The primary role of a Laboratory Pre-Analytics Services Assistant involves managing pre-testing processes. This includes patient preparation, specimen collection, identification, preservation, and processing. Assistants provide support within both pre-analytic and analytic laboratory departments by performing clerical and laboratory assistant duties to ensure the smooth operation of the lab.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, sort, and store incoming specimens.
  • Perform data entry, including patient requisitions, ensuring accuracy.
  • Assist in providing general support functions and perform general clerical duties.
  • Take inventory, stock, and order supply items as directed by supervisors for the pre-analytical department.
  • Verify and enter patient demographics, consents, and insurance information with manual requisitions.
  • Order tests as per requests and record collected and received time/date information.

Essential Skills

  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Basic ability to analyze data and accurately document results.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 0-1 year of experience in roles such as lab technician, lab assistant, accessioner, phlebotomist, or medical assistant.
  • Experience with EHS systems such as Millennium and Epic.

Work Environment

The position operates in a fast-paced environment within the Core Lab.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Spokane Valley, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $30.29/hr.
