The Staff Accountant for Reneson Hotels, Inc. completes fixed asset depreciations, bank reconciliations, medical and dental benefit insurance reconciliations, as well as journal entries for all. The Staff Accountant also assists in partial invoice process and payments. The candidate will also perform some hotel and restaurant revenue transactions and reconciliations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Applicant should have 3-4 years general accounting and bookkeeping backgrounds. Must be very familiar with GAAP.
- Applicant should know 10-key by touch.
- Applicant should have Quickbook, MAS 100, and BNA Fixed Asset experiences. Proficient in Excel spreadsheet with pivot table functions and Microsoft Word skills.
- Applicant should have excellent communication skills, strong organizational skills, work accuracy, and must be detail oriented.
- Applicant must have the ability to multi-task.
- Applicant must be open to change and willing to learn new skills.
- Applicant must have the ability to follow up on pending issues.
- Applicant must have the ability to meet deadlines.
- Applicant must have strong data entry skills.
- Applicant must have the ability to tabulate statistical data and compile necessary reports.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform bank reconciliations for the main account as well as other petty cash bank accounts, *
- Assist in AP payment automation.
- Prepare all medical, dental, and life insurance benefit billings, *
- Reconciling all the medical and dental copay and dependent GL accounts.
- Perform fixed asset schedules and entry fixed asset items into the fixed asset software.
- Reconcile and balance daily hotel and restaurant revenue postings.
- Perform inventories for the hotels and restaurants

TASKS
- On a daily basis, reconcile hotel revenue transactions between the income journal and the PMS.
- Prepare linen, food and wine bar inventories during the end of the first week.
- Complete and finalize monthly income journal on the first day of the month.
- Perform monthly food and bar costs through inventory counts on the second day of the month.
- Prepare bank reconciliation for Main account and the other petty cash bank accounts on the third day of the month, including gathering all bank debit transactions such as ACH and wire payment backups and all credit transactions such as bank and credit card deposits from all properties.
- Perform all medical and dental billings, including maintaining the monthly internal insurance allocation workbooks by properties, reconciling the workbook balance and the billings, updating the premium information at year end, and calculating and allocating the reserve portions for both the medical and the dental.
- Reconcile and balance GL medical deduction accounts.
- Prepare journal entries for bank reconciliation and workers’ compensation.
- Input fixed asset transactions semimonthly and maintain depreciation schedules at year end.
- Assist in year-end tax distribution to the Company Trusts.
- Reconcile medical and dental reserves.
- Assist in gathering data for financial analysis reports.
- Other related tasks upon request.
- Comply with company and departmental safety rules and procedures.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Hours: 9am - 5:30pm *
Days: Monday through Friday. * IN OFFICE, not remote work
