Description:

Reporting to the COO and working closely with the CEO, the Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the organizations financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial management. This role provides leadership in financial planning, reporting, internal controls, and regulatory compliance to support the long-term financial health and sustainability of the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards.
  • Perform all accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, general ledger, stocks and reconciliations.
  • Ensure accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of all donor contributions within donor management and accounting systems.
  • Perform accurate and timely entry of financial data within accounting systems.
  • Lead the organizations budgeting process, including forecasting, monitoring performance, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper internal controls.
  • Manage grant financial reporting for Federal, State and County Grants as well as any requirements from Foundations, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and alignment with organizational records.
  • Direct audit preparation and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors.
  • Oversee preparation and coordination of IRS Form 990, Federal Census Surveys, and other regulatory filings.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
  • Maintain systems that clearly document donor intent and ensure expenditures align with restrictions.
  • Strengthen internal controls and compliance procedures to minimize risk and ensure accountability in the use of funds.
  • Interface with banks, auditors, accountants, and other financial partners.
  • Support Development team in donor reporting, including financial summaries for major donors, grants, and campaigns.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to the CEO and Board of Directors to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure proper documentation and audit trails for all financial transactions, particularly those tied to restricted funding.


Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field plus a minimum of 5 years experience in a Controller or Finance Manager role, nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online), with experience in fund accounting required
  • Strong Google Sheets/Excel skills for financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting
  • Familiarity with donor management/CRM systems and integration with accounting platforms preferred
  • Proficient in use of Google Suite platforms (Google Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Email, etc)
  • Knowledge of nonprofit regulatory and reporting requirements (including Form 990)Deep understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, including fund accounting and donor-restricted funds.
  • Demonstrate a genuine and active Christian faith, evidenced by a commitment to Biblical values, including the value of human life, sexual integrity, unity within the Body of Christ, and partnership with other believers in Christ-centered ministry.
  • Demonstrated commitment to financial stewardship, transparency, and ethical management of donor resources.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful insights for leadership and board members.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally, particularly with development and program teams.
  • High level of integrity and ability to maintain strict confidentiality of financial and donor information.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills in a deadline-driven environment.



Salary & Benefit Information:

Compensation will be based on experience and skill set. GWG participates in a QSEHRA plan providing nontaxable funds in the amount of $250/mo towards medical expenses. GWG provides a competitive PTO schedule.
