Position Summary (Service & Sales Focus)
We are seeking a highly motivated agent to blend sales expertise with exceptional customer service. This hybrid role involves managing existing business while actively pursuing new sales opportunities. The long-term vision is for the right candidate to develop a successful, lucrative career with our agency, and if desired, assistance with opening their own agency.
Schedule & Requirements
- Schedule: This is a Hybrid Role that often requires dedication beyond a standard 9-5 to hit personal goals. On-time attendance is mandatory.
- Licensing (Must Have): Michigan Property & Casualty (P&C) license required prior to start date.
- Experience: Prior sales experience (at least one year preferred) or insurance experience is a plus, but motivated individuals are welcome.
- Commitment: Must be motivated and career-driven, focused on long-term growth with the company.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Sales & Growth (Hunting Sales Opportunities):
- Answer inbound calls and make outbound sales calls to hunt new sales opportunities.
- Develop leads and schedule appointments with prospective clients.
- Receive top-quality leads in the form of live phone transfers and emailed leads for multi-vehicle households.
- Use a customer-focused, needs-based insurance review process to educate customers about insurance options.
- Hit your assigned monthly goal; keep motivation and pride in your work top priority.
- Develop relationships with insured clients to generate natural referrals.
Client Service & Underwriting (Book of Business):
- Handle beginning-of-day tasks for the agency.
- Answer phone calls and service insurance policies already on the book of business.
- Handle underwriting messages/tasks that come in daily.
- Contact canceled accounts or accounts that have not made payments.
- Respond to insurance inquiries regarding policy changes, transfers, claims, and billing clarification.
- Obtain underwriting approval by completing the application for coverage.
- Required to obtain all necessary documents to make sure the premium does not change after the policy is issued.
- Onboard new clients (welcoming them and ensuring they have been provided with everything they need).
- Cross-selling will be taught, and you will be required to proactively reach out to existing clients to add on additional Lines of business.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Software: Proficient with Excel and Microsoft Office Email.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; personable with high-energy.
- Work Ethic: Organized, self-motivated, fast learner, and proactive in problem-solving.
- Sales Focus: Experience in conflict resolution and strong negotiation skills.
- Commitment: Willingness to help and take pride in your work!
