Position Summary

A large acute care facility in Central New York is seeking an experienced Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic examinations under the direction of radiologists. The technologist will ensure high-quality imaging, patient safety, and adherence to departmental protocols and radiation safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic examinations as ordered by physicians

• Greet and properly identify patients prior to procedures

• Explain imaging procedures and ensure patient comfort

• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal image quality

• Select appropriate exposure factors to produce diagnostic-quality images

• Practice radiation safety and protection standards

• Operate imaging equipment efficiently and report equipment malfunctions

• Process images and ensure proper documentation

• Enter patient and exam information into the Radiology Information System (RIS) for documentation and billing

• Follow departmental policies and procedural protocols

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree (A.A.S.) in Radiologic Technology or equivalent

• Current New York State license/registration

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Radiologic Technologist

• Knowledge of imaging equipment operation and radiation safety

• Successful completion of pre-employment health clearance
