Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver engaging, standards-aligned science lessons for grades 6–8

• Create a safe, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment that promotes student learning and collaboration

• Integrate lab experiments, field investigations, STEM activities, and technology to support instruction

• Assess student progress regularly using multiple forms of data and adjust instruction accordingly

• Collaborate with colleagues, support staff, and families to meet the academic and developmental needs of all students

• Participate in school events, parent conferences, staff meetings, and professional development

• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance

• Support school-wide initiatives, mission, and values

Qualifications:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Science Education or a related field

• Minnesota Tier 2, 3, or 4 teaching license (or ability to obtain one in Science for Middle Grades 5–8)

• Strong knowledge of physical, life, and earth sciences

• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion

Preferred:

• Prior teaching experience in middle school settings

• Experience with culturally responsive teaching practices

• Familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and Minnesota Academic Standards

• Strong classroom management and communication skills
