Job Description
The Civil Estimator will spend their time communicating with customers, reviewing projects, verifying data and the scope of projects, and putting estimates together. The main responsibilities as a Civil Estimator will be to provide full estimating services on large and complex civil construction projects across the Earthwork/Civil landscape. The ideal candidate is humble, steady, logical, and eager to be part of a close-knit, faith-forward team. This person must learn quickly, communicate clearly, and handle multiple bids at once with accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and analyze project needs to determine effective and efficient solutions that keep projects on budget and on schedule
- Identify resources needed and obtain project material submittals from vendors to prepare submittal packages
- Support PMs with change orders, pricing adjustments, and clarifying scope throughout the project lifecycle
- Communicate effectively and professionally both internally and externally
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of estimating experience in earthwork/civil construction
- Ability to read and interpret civil construction plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports
- Experience/familiarity with HCSS HeavyBid software
