A hospital inpatient pharmacist opportunity is available in the Independence, MO area, offering an immediate start for a 13-week contract. This night shift role is perfect for a licensed pharmacist with some hospital experience looking to contribute to patient care and medication management in a fast-paced inpatient setting.

Schedule:

• Night shift, approximately 9:00 pm to 7:00 am
• 7 days on, 7 days off

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify medication orders accurately to ensure patient safety and compliance
• Supervise pharmacy technicians during the night shift to maintain efficient workflow
• Apply pharmacokinetics knowledge to optimize drug therapy for complex cases
• Consult regularly with physicians and nurses to provide expert pharmaceutical advice
• Utilize Meditech electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems effectively

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Missouri pharmacist license
• Experience working in a hospital inpatient pharmacy setting
• Strong knowledge of pharmacokinetics and medication safety principles
• Ability to work independently overnight while collaborating with clinical staff
• Proficiency with Meditech and Pyxis systems preferred
