Automation Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $79,000 - $124,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and implement industrial automation systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Human-Machine Interfaces (HMIs), and robotic systems.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair complex automation system failures and control issues.
Optimize existing manufacturing processes for improved efficiency, reliability, and throughput.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define automation requirements and integrate new solutions.
Develop and maintain technical documentation, including electrical schematics, control narratives, and operational procedures.
Ensure all automation systems comply with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.

Recommended Qualifications

Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley) and troubleshooting.
Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) for programming, integration, and maintenance.
Strong capability in HMI/SCADA system design and development.
Solid understanding of industrial communication protocols (e.g., EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP/IP).
Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process automation, including sensor integration and process optimization.

Bonus Qualifications

Experience with industrial robotics (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB).
Proficiency in industrial vision systems (e.g., Cognex, Keyence).
Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (MES) or ERP integration.
Experience with industrial data historians or database integration for OEE/analytics.
