Your day to day as a Production Supervisor
As a Production Floor Supervisor at Worldwide Foam in LaPorte, you’ll kick off each day by reviewing prior-shift results, safety notes, and production priorities, setting the tone for success. Your day unfolds with an engaging floor walk and a dynamic shift huddle to align expectations with your team. You’ll take charge on the production floor, expertly managing workflow across all lines, adjusting staffing in real-time, and swiftly addressing any issues that arise, all while adhering to strict safety and quality standards. This role also allows you to onboard and orient new employees, providing coaching and clear feedback to empower your team.
Throughout the shift, you’ll monitor output against goals, liaise with plant leadership, and support shipping and receiving initiatives. As the shift wraps up, you’ll finalize production documentation, ensure a safe environment for the next team, and pass on vital information to leadership for seamless operations.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Hands-on supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Ability to lead hourly teams on a production floor, manage daily priorities, and hold employees accountable for performance, safety and attendance.
- Working knowledge of production operations and workflow management
- Understanding how production lines function, how to identify bottlenecks, and how to adjust labor or processes in real time to meet output goals.
- Strong people leadership and communication skills
- Ability to give clear direction, coach employees, address performance issues, and communicate expectations consistently and professionally.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards
- Knowledge of basic manufacturing safety practices, PPE requirements, and quality control expectations with the ability to enforce standards without exception.
- Ability to train, onboard, and develop employees
- Experience orienting new hires, supporting on-the-job training, and reinforcing standard work procedures.
- Basic production reporting and documentation skills
- Ability to accurately complete production inventory and shift documentation and communicate key information during shift handoffs.
- Strong judgment and decision-making skills
- Ability to assess situations quickly, resolve issues on the floor, and escalate concerns appropriately when needed.
