Overview
Green Sage Caf is looking for a dedicated Line Cook to join our fun and busy caf. We are seeking individuals who can uphold our companys values by preparing healthy and delicious meals using simple recipes made with organic, all-natural, and locally sourced ingredients.
Our menu serves a diverse customer base with a variety of dietary restrictions and lifestyle choices, including vegan, gluten-sensitive, dairy-free, and other dietary needs. Our Line Cooks must be team players who respect all staff members, demonstrate dependability, and show initiative.
Our cafs are open from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and shifts are available between 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., so no late nights are required. There are opportunities for growth within the company for individuals who wish to advance in their careers.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment required
- Must have weekend availability
- Ability to work on your feet for six or more hours per day
- High level of professionalism
- Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills
- Ability to lift at least 40 pounds regularly
- ServSafe certification (recommended)
- Restaurant experience: 1-2 years (preferred)

The Line Cooks primary role is the accurate, efficient, and timely preparation, cooking, and assembly of prep and menu items in the kitchen, with the goal of providing customers with the best possible dining experience from the back of house.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of menu items, recipes, and preparation methods according to Green Sage standards
- Training in, knowledge of, and safe use of kitchen equipment to perform all duties
- Prepare all prep items according to recipes and proper procedures
- Prepare menu items quickly and accurately according to tickets and customer requests
- Ensure customer orders are complete and correct before leaving the kitchen
- Maintain control, organization, and communication during order execution at all times
- Maintain freshness and sanitation standards in accordance with health codes and company policies
- Receive and store deliveries using proper rotation and dating procedures
- Set up, break down, and clean the kitchen according to checklists and guidelines
- Assist with expediting, food running, and other duties as requested by management
