Summary:


A Procurement Buyer at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Procurement team supporting efforts for the transactional activities relative to Central Procurement. This position involves excellent partnership and service to our distribution centers and is ideal for someone who has analytical skills, excellent customer service, and is detail orientated.
Key Responsibilities

  1. Replenishment Management
    • Manage all replenishment buying for Central Procurement (CP) sourced and supplied items across distribution centers (DCs).
    • Generate purchase orders directly from each DC to maintain inventory levels according to safety stock standards.
    • Book and oversee all freight arrangements for CP replenishment items.
    • Provide comprehensive communication to sales teams regarding inventory status by DC.
  2. Operational Oversight
    • Oversee all aspects of CP-sourced items in DCs, including price cycle reviews, freight management, quantity limits, and daily communication protocols.
    • Ensure adherence to service cost optimization while maintaining high levels of quality and meeting delivery targets.
    • Supply day-to-day management to ensure product availability and performance in DCs.
  3. Strategic Support
    • Assist category managers in developing and implementing strategic sourcing and procurement processes.
    • Work with category managers to develop price forecasts for key market drivers.
    • Develop expertise in key material market suppliers and cost structures to support informed decision-making.
  4. Vendor Relations and Communication
    • Enforce safety practices and ensure timely and professional business transactions
    • Review inventory, item movement/history, ad projections, and product supply to determine ordering needs and take appropriate action

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.
What you bring to Pacific SeafoodEducation and Experience

  • Required
    • Minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
