Role Overview

The Specialty Pharmacy Patient Access Coordinator for the GBS Rx Advantage program is pivotal in ensuring patients have seamless, efficient, and affordable access to essential medications. Acting as a compassionate advocate, you will bridge communication among patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and health plan sponsors. This role offers the opportunity to make a direct and meaningful impact on patients’ lives by facilitating medication, accessibility and affordability.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Educate and guide patients regarding pharmacy benefits and prescription drug formularies.
  • Navigate complex prescription processes to ensure timely, cost-effective access to medications.
  • Coordinate communication among patients, healthcare providers, pharmacies, and pharmaceutical manufacturers.
  • Resolve patient inquiries and issues promptly with empathy and exceptional customer service.
  • Assist pharmacy advocate staff and patients in completing and submitting required forms and applications.
  • Track prescription fulfillment, follow up proactively, and resolve application issues.
  • Regularly utilize Excel spreadsheets to monitor and analyze enrollment, usage, and revenue data.
  • Communicate effectively with provider representatives, pharmacies, and third-party representatives.
  • Document all patient interactions meticulously to ensure continuity of care and resolution accuracy.
  • Maintain accurate databases, conduct program audits, support billing and invoicing, and manage pharmacy claims adjudication.
  • Act as liaison with pharmacy partners and internal teams, addressing and resolving inquiries efficiently.


Required Skills And Experience

  • Certified Pharmacy Technician (Preferred)
  • In-depth understanding and professional experience within the pharmaceutical manufacturer assistance industry, particularly enrolling patients in patient assistance and copay programs.
  • Proficiency in Windows PC, Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), G-Suite, and Smartsheet.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong empathy and patient-focused mindset.
  • Proven problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • Ability to operate independently and collaboratively within teams.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and data management.


Working Conditions / Essential Functions

This position enjoys the benefit of working in a newly constructed and beautiful open-concept office building. Our facility is state of the art with common areas, stand-up workstations, beautiful views, an amazing lunchroom and wonderful amenities. Employees are provided with modern ergonomically proven workspaces. Daily work includes computer interfacing, data entry, communications (electronic and physical), movement throughout the office, attending meetings, etc.


Physical demands include the ability to lift and move objects (typically 0 - 10 lbs), visually monitor information/data on a computer screen,
