Role Description
We are seeking a Head of Pharmacy Operations, Compounding, for a full-time, on-site role based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The individual will lead and oversee all nonsterile and sterile compounding pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and developing efficient workflows. The individual will serve as the first pharmacist in charge for the facility and will be responsible for building a top tier pharmacist and pharmacy technician team. Key responsibilities will include production of sterile and nonsterile compounds and building out our compounding facility, building out our quality and compliance processes, managing pharmacy staff, optimizing inventory, and contributing to strategic planning efforts to strengthen the organization's pharmacy infrastructure. The candidate will play a key role in creating and implementing processes that ensure safety, efficiency, and innovation within the pharmacy practice.
Ideal Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice, and in particular in hands-on compounding of both sterile and non-sterile compounds
- 5+ years of work experience at a 503A compounding facility, ideally as the pharmacist in charge
- Strong experience and familiarity with USP 795 / 797 compliance
- Active pharmacist license including a California License
- Experience with compounding pharmacy software
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience managing and mentoring a team
- Knowledge of regulations and compliance standards related to sterile and nonsterile compounding
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to implement new processes effectively
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree or equivalent qualification is preferred
- Entrepreneurial instincts and a desire to bring modern software and robotic automation into the compounding world to produce prescriptions of the highest quality and safety
Compensation
- 150-325k depending on experience, alongside competitive cash bonuses and 90th percentile equity compensation.
