STAFF ACCOUNTANT
Location: Grand Rapids, MN
Schedule: Monday - Friday | Full-Time
Compensation: $60,000 - $75,000/year, competitive and based on experience
Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is partnering with a well-established local company to hire a Staff Accountant. This role is responsible for a wide range of accounting, financial reporting, pricing analysis, and compliance functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable handling both routine accounting tasks and time-sensitive deadlines.
Qualified candidates will have proven experience in accounting management or relevant field.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain daily reporting and review/post weekly GL transactions
- Complete vendor clearing and monthly budget spreadsheets
- Perform month-end close using a standardized checklist
- Prepare monthly financial statements by the 10th of the following month
- Administer fixed asset records and track customer accruals/rebates
- Manage customer pricing and price updates
- Process new customer applications, including credit and bank reference checks
- Assist with state excise tax compliance and order cigarette stamps
- Maintain business licenses and registered agent filings
- Coordinate workers' compensation and commercial insurance renewals
- Prepare annual 1099s
- Review and reconcile monthly bank and Visa statements
- Coordinate annual inventory audit and maintain audit documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor or master degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred
- 6+ years of accounting or finance experience required
- Strong knowledge of General Ledger accounting and month-end close
- Proficient in spreadsheets and accounting systems
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organization
