Our organization is seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) to join our team in Cooperstown, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and monitor the nutritional health of residents, provide recommendations to medical personnel, and create comprehensive care plans.

  • Identify and evaluate the specific nutritional needs of residents, particularly those requiring nutrition support, addressing skin issues, and managing significant weight concerns.

  • Coordinate the acquisition of nutritional support supplies and oral supplements with external vendors and relevant department heads.

  • Oversee meal service for residents to ensure adherence to dietary modifications.

  • Educate residents, their families, and staff on nutrition principles and dietary adjustments.

  • Regularly assess Dietary Care plans for effectiveness to maintain high standards of care.

  • Participate in weekly meetings with the interdisciplinary team to review and modify residents’ care plans.

  • Collaborate closely with the Speech-Language Pathologist to ensure residents with dysphagia receive appropriate mechanically altered diets.

  • Review all menu modifications to ensure compliance with facility policies and State/Federal regulations.

  • Daily update diet orders and menu changes in the computer menu software.

  • Supervise and work alongside the dietary team to deliver exceptional care to residents.

  • Conduct regular audits in areas related to providing quality nutritional care.

  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies regarding weight monitoring.

  • Communicate daily with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care for residents.

Qualifications:

  • Must hold a Registered Dietitian credential.

  • Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities.

  • Familiarity with relevant state and federal regulations.

  • Proficiency in computer skills, including EMR software and computer-based menu systems.
