Role Overview:

Guardian Centers of Georgia, a comprehensive training organization for military and first responders based in Perry, Georgia, is seeking an experienced USAR (Urban Search and Rescue) Technician with expertise in warehousing, equipment management, fleet operations, asset tracking, maintenance and cache management to work directly and daily with the United Arab Emirates National Guard Urban Search and Rescue Teams, support division.

As a key member of the management team, you will collaborate with the UAE USAR Team’s support division to lead the development of logistical goals and objectives. This position involves daily interaction with the UAE National Guard in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, and reports directly to the USAR and Technical Rescue Program Manager.

The USAR Logistics Specialist will work closely with the UAE National Guard Support Operations on a range of logistics and administrative projects. The preferred candidate is a former logistics specialist from a USAR Task Force. In this role, you will serve as a trainer, mentor, and supervisor, guiding the development of standard operating procedures, checklists, and daily operational protocols for the newly established UAE USAR Task Force.

This role is critical to enhancing the operational readiness of USAR teams through precise organization and effective communication. The position requires daily coordination with the UAE National Guard in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

Key Responsibilities

Logistics Training:

  • Develop and keep a detailed training schedule for USAR Team members on logistical activities, ensuring all required sessions are meticulously planned and aligned with team readiness objectives.
  • Coordinate with USAR management, logistics teams, and other stakeholders to confirm training priorities, adjust schedules, and ensure all logistical requirements are met.
  • Develop and implement a logistics specialist training program that includes Task Force mobilization, base of operations management, and the demobilization process.
  • Oversee the development of all required documents to support the classification process.
  • Manage logistics for the UAE rescue team, including coordination of team transport, site bookings, and essential equipment logistics for training events.

Logistics Management:

  • Work with the UAE client to research and introduce an asset tracking system and equipment tracking methodologies. These will include manual, database, and barcode systems.
  • Manage logistics for the UAE rescue team, including coordination of team transport, site bookings, and essential equipment logistics for training events.
  • Develop the process and procedures for cache management, to include inventory management, maintenance and equipment tracking.
  • Develop all requirements for cache deployment to include documentation for air and ground transport of hazardous materials.
  • Coordinate all travel logistics for trainers and participants, including booking flights, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations.
  • Ensure all UAE rescue team members and trainers have the necessary travel documents and itinerary details ahead of each training event.
  • Work within established travel budgets and company policies, identifying the most cost-effective solutions for accommodations and travel arrangements.

Documentation and Compliance:

  • Ensure all training documentation (e.g., agendas, materials, handouts, certification records) is prepared and available before each session.
  • Maintain and update records related to training certifications, attendance, and evaluations per USAR standards and compliance requirements.
  • Audit Process
  • Prepare, distribute post-training reports and feedback surveys, capturing outcomes and addressing areas for improvement.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Serve as the pivotal point of contact for all training-related queries, ensuring participants, trainers, and stakeholders are well-informed and supported.
  • Communicate training updates, changes, and key information to all relevant parties in a timely and professional manner.
  • Foster effective collaboration with other departments and external partners to ensure that training initiatives align with organizational needs.

Budget Management:

  • Assist with the preparation of training budgets, track expenditures, and ensure the program stays within allocated resources.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality or effectiveness of the training experience.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Participate in the review and evaluation of training programs, suggesting improvements to processes, content, and delivery methods.
  • Collaborate with USAR leadership to develop new training initiatives based on emerging trends or operational needs in the USAR field.

Preferred Skills:

· 10+ years of experience in Urban Search and Rescue (USAR), including active membership in a USAR Task Force.

· 2-3 years of experience in training coordination, project management, or logistics, ideally within emergency services or first responder operations.

· Technician-level certification in Rope, Structural Collapse, Confined Space, and Trench rescue.

· Proficiency in purchase requisitions, procurement processes, and organizational purchasing policies, including the ability to create and submit formal requests for goods or services.

· Experience with USAR or public safety training programs is highly desirable.
