Estimator | Norton Shores, MI
Salary Range: $61,000 - $93,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for manufacturing projects, including materials, labor, and overhead.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to accurately determine project scope and requirements.
- Collaborate with engineering, production, and sales teams to gather necessary information for bid preparation.
- Solicit and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and propose mitigation strategies.
- Maintain and update a comprehensive database of historical cost data for future reference and analysis.
- Present prepared estimates to management and clients, clearly articulating the basis of the cost calculations.
Recommended Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in cost estimating within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to accurately assess material, labor, and overhead costs.
- Experience with ERP systems and specialized estimating software.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Certification in estimating (e.g., CEP, CPE)
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles
- Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Ability to speak a second language relevant to the company's supply chain or customer base
