Fabricator – Contract (Onsite | Minneapolis, MN)
Location: Onsite in Minneapolis, MN 55413
Duration: Contract through January 31, 2026 (potential to extend)
We’re looking for a skilled Fabricator to support custom builds for experiential, scenic, and retail fixture projects. This role is hands-on and requires expertise in carpentry, metalwork, and general fabrication techniques. You’ll collaborate with Design, Finishing, and Project Management teams to interpret build plans, evaluate materials, and execute high-quality fabrications that meet design intent and client standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, experienced with both manual and digital tools, and thrives in deadline-driven environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret and execute build plans for a variety of custom projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on materials and fabrication strategies
- Safely use tools and equipment across carpentry, metalwork, and digital fabrication
- Troubleshoot construction details and adapt plans as needed
- Support on-site/set installations, occasionally outside of standard working hours
- Lift and maneuver materials up to 50 lbs. as part of daily tasks
Required Qualifications
- Journeyman certification, completed apprenticeship, technical degree, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of hands-on fabrication experience using a wide range of tools and materials
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents
- Strong understanding of core fabrication techniques (woodworking, metalworking)
- Comfortable working independently in fast-paced environments
- Willingness to travel occasionally and support live or on-site work
Preferred Experience
- Background in custom fabrication, cabinetry, theater production, or installation art
- Experience using CNC, laser cutting, or plasma cutting equipment
