Overview of Position
The Homemaker Aide provides essential homemaking services to PASSPORT program participants, enabling them to maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment. This role focuses on non-personal care tasks, emphasizing household management and support.
Homemaking Services:
- Perform light housekeeping duties, including:
- Dusting and vacuuming.
- Sweeping and mopping floors.
- Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens.
- Laundry and linen changes.
- Meal preparation, including planning and cooking meals according to dietary needs and preferences.
- Grocery shopping and errand running.
- Organizing and maintaining a clean and safe home environment.
- Assist with household budgeting and bill paying assistance, as directed within the care plan.
Adherence to Care Plans:
- Follow the individualized service plan developed by the PASSPORT case manager.
- Implement services in accordance with ODA PASSPORT program guidelines.
Documentation and Communication:
- Maintain accurate and timely records of services provided.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and agency staff.
- Report any changes in client condition or concerns about the home environment to the supervisor.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
Compliance:
- Adhere to all agency policies and procedures, as well as ODA PASSPORT program regulations.
- Participate in required training and meetings.
Professional Conduct:
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Treat clients with respect, dignity, and compassion.
- Demonstrate patience and understanding.
Qualifications:
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (if required by the client's care plan).
- Have and maintain state minimum vehicle insurance coverage in your name
- Experience in homemaking or related field.
- Ability to perform light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license, if required for errands.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check.
- Understanding of and respect for the needs of older adults.
- Knowledge of basic safety and sanitation practices.
- Adherence to ODA standards.
- Must possess or be able to complete requirement for First Aid/CPR Certification
