Job Summary
The Mobile Unit Operator is responsible for maintaining and driving the Goodwill mobile unit throughout the Northwest NC territory to provide services to our communities through partnerships with our Mission Advancement team. This person is knowledgeable in vehicle maintenance and exhibits exceptional customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
- Drives mobile unit to assigned locations throughout Goodwill of Northwest NC territory.
- Overnight stays may be required based on schedule requirements.
- Responsible for the safe pick-up and drop-off of unit to designated parking areas.
- Ensures unit is properly stocked with necessities prior to each event. .
- Partners with appropriate internal and external partners to confirm unit logistics, including scheduling, parking, and set-up.
- Assists with all unit preparation including set up of awnings, technology and connectivity, power and other basic set-up.
- Ensures safety of all Goodwill participants, employees and guests at all times.
- Assists participants in utilizing accessibility lift, as required.
- Maintains basic unit maintenance, inspections, cleanliness and safety checks.
- Maintains logs and reports, as required.
- Partners with Facilities team to coordinate any required maintenance to the unit.
- Provides exceptional customer service to all external participants and demonstrates a strong knowledge of Goodwill of Northwest NC’s programs.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- At least 1 to 2 years’ prior experience in driving transportation vehicles, required.
- Must have valid CDL license and be able to pass Motor Vehicle Report.
- Must be able to travel overnight and work weekends, as required.
- Must have, or be willing to receive, current certifications in First Aid and CPR.
- Must have, to be willing to receive, certification in personal intervention.
- Must be customer service oriented and have strong verbal communication skills.
- Must be comfortable physically assisting participants load and unload vehicles, as necessary.
- Must have strong problem-solving and conflict management skills.
- Strong organizational skills, required.
- Strong technical skills, highly preferred.
- Must have basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
- Must become familiar with all Goodwill programs.
- Multi-lingual, preferred.
- Must be willing to travel 75%+
