Shift: Day Shift – 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM (1-hour lunch)
Pay: 70K - 73K - Must have automotive experience

First Call Direct Hire is recruiting for our great client for a Production Manager. In this role, you’ll develop and execute production plans to meet delivery requirements while emphasizing Quality, Cost, and Delivery.
What You Will Do:
• Plan & Schedule: Create detailed production plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and work orders to meet targets.
• Demand Forecasting: Analyze past order data, economic trends, and seasonal factors to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Inventory Control: Manage inventories to prevent surpluses or shortages.
• Resource Management: Oversee monthly raw material levels, ensure timely procurement, and optimize equipment usage.
• Quality Assurance: Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to drive improvements and enforce defect management policies.
• Cost Control: Track production costs, identify reduction opportunities, and manage budgets effectively.
• Safety Compliance: Support and enforce safety regulations and procedures on the production floor.
• Performance Monitoring: Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for process enhancements.
• Continuous Improvement: Implement initiatives to streamline production processes and optimize workflow.
• Collaboration: Work closely with sales, maintenance, and engineering to ensure smooth production flow.
• Process Planning: Assist the Plant Manager in developing process plans that support production scheduling.
Skills & Qualifications:
• Computer Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical: Strong math and problem-solving abilities.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with manufacturing processes and equipment is a plus.
• Leadership: Detail-oriented, adaptable, and capable of leading a team.
• Experience: 2-4 years managing production schedules and resources; experience with automotive APQP/PPAP or plastics injection/extrusion is preferred.
Work Conditions & Environment:
• Setting: Open office in an automotive plant environment with PPE requirements (e.g., safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, hearing protection).
• Noise Level: Moderate to loud.
• Physical Demands: Ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 40 lbs.
Education:
• Requirement: High School Diploma is required.
