  • Inspect erosion control measures and environmental compliance while performing material sampling and quality testing.
  • Prepare detailed daily inspection reports, document contractor performance, and process payment records.
  • Conduct calculations, maintain records of material quantities, and ensure project timelines are met.
  • Attend progress and safety meetings, working closely with contractors, engineers, and stakeholders to resolve project challenges.
  • Perform DBE/EEO compliance surveys to verify adherence to inclusivity and workforce standards.

Compensation is based on experience, with additional bonuses for holding relevant certifications.

What We're Looking For:

  • A high school diploma/GED and 2+ years of highway-related construction or inspection experience OR a 2-year technical degree or higher in Civil Engineering Technology or Surveying Technology with 1 year of highway-related construction experience
  • You have at least two (2) active NCDOT-based certifications:

  • You have strong communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
  • You have good math skills with a basic understanding of weight, volume, pressure, and units of measure

What to Expect:

With the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):

  • Outdoor, hands-on work in all weather conditions.
  • Walking over rough terrain and standing for long periods (up to 12 hours).
  • Lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipment.
  • Safely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sites.
  • Exposure to highway traffic, uneven terrain, and heavy machinery, with potential for extended hours, weekends, and holidays.
