Job Description
This position focuses on environmental sample collection and laboratory support rather than analytical testing. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance and supporting cleanroom operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect environmental samples from controlled process areas, high-purity water systems, clean steam, and compressed gases.
- Perform routine environmental monitoring to ensure compliance with cleanroom standards.
- Support laboratory operations by cleaning controlled temperature units, operating autoclaves, and assisting with general upkeep.
- Coordinate equipment maintenance and calibration to ensure readiness and compliance.
- Use the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) to track samples and associated data.
- Participate in overtime, weekend, holiday, and on-call schedules as needed.
Cleanroom Requirements
- No cosmetics, nail polish, or jewelry (except medical alert items or one smooth ring band).
- Hair must be secured in a hairnet; facial hair must be trimmed and covered.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology or related field OR Associate’s degree in Life Sciences with relevant experience.
- Ability to meet physical demands: lifting 25 lbs+, standing/walking for extended periods, pushing/pulling carts, bending/reaching.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to learn new techniques.
- Proficiency with computer systems and accurate record-keeping.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without restriction or sponsorship.
Preferred:
- Experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology environments.
- Familiarity with microbial identification and cGMP regulations.
- Environmental monitoring experience and LIMS knowledge.

- 10-15 Minute Phone Interview with Region Recruiter
- 45-60 Minute Virtual Interview with Manager and/or Group Leader
- 30 Minute Virtual Meeting with Site Director
This is a full-time, onsite position based on a first-shift schedule (Sunday through Wednesday, 7:00am to 5:30pm), with overtime required as needed. Training is Monday through Friday from 7:00am-3:30pm. Candidates located within a commutable distance to Rensselaer, New York, are strongly encouraged to apply.
