Job DescriptionDirector of Housekeeping

We are seeking a dynamic Director of Housekeeping to lead and oversee housekeeping operations within a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment. In this leadership role, you will ensure the facility maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and hygiene to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all housekeeping and laundry operations to ensure exceptional cleanliness and sanitation standards throughout the facility.

  • Develop and oversee staff schedules to ensure timely completion of housekeeping and laundry duties.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance are consistently met.

  • Ensure adherence to infection control procedures and safety protocols.

  • Oversee orientation, training, and ongoing development of housekeeping and laundry staff.

  • Manage inventory, purchasing, storage, and distribution of housekeeping and laundry supplies.

  • Maintain adequate linen inventory levels for facility operations.

  • Remain current with all state and federal regulations related to housekeeping and laundry services in healthcare settings.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Housekeeping Director in a long-term care, rehabilitation, or sub-acute healthcare setting.

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and healthcare regulatory standards.

  • Compassionate and professional approach when working with elderly residents and healthcare staff.

  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
