Responsibilities
- Evaluate pediatric patients to identify developmental, sensory, motor, fine-motor, visual-motor, and functional needs.
- Develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care based on each child's strengths, needs, and goals.
- Provide engaging, age-appropriate occupational therapy interventions in a supportive and child-centered environment.
- Address functional skills including fine-motor coordination, handwriting, visual-motor integration, activities of daily living, feeding-related skills as appropriate, and participation in age-appropriate activities.
- Incorporate sensory-based strategies and therapeutic activities when clinically appropriate.
- Educate and collaborate with parents, caregivers, and families to promote carryover of skills outside of therapy.
- Collaborate with physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, physicians, teachers, and other healthcare professionals as appropriate.
- Track patient progress and modify treatment plans based on clinical findings and functional outcomes.
- Accurately document evaluations, treatment sessions, progress, and discharge information using our EMR and AI-assisted documentation tools.
- Foster positive, trusting relationships with children, families, teammates, and referral partners.
- Contribute to a positive, supportive, and collaborative clinic culture.
- Participate in professional development and ongoing learning to enhance pediatric clinical skills.
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current or eligible Occupational Therapist license in New Jersey.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Passion for working with children and families.
- Creative, compassionate, and patient-centered approach to pediatric therapy.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with families and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
- Commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based care.
- New graduates and experienced pediatric occupational therapists are encouraged to apply.
