Overall Scope
Elemental Wellness Center is committed to providing a welcoming and knowledgeable environment for all our customers. As a Member Services Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in welcoming our customers at the front door, as well as checking our customers’ ID and giving them a rundown of our products and services, priming them for their purchase. You will make sure the customers are checked into our system, while also informing customers of our deals and promotions.
Responsibilities:
- Greet Customers Warmly: Welcome customers as they enter the retail cannabis store, creating a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
- Promote Sales and Specials: Inform customers about ongoing sales, promotions, and new products to enhance their shopping experience.
- Provide Store Information: Answer basic questions about the store, products, and services, directing customers to appropriate staff for further assistance.
- Monitor Entry and Exit: Ensure a secure environment by monitoring who enters and exits the store, maintaining a safe and compliant space.
- Verify Customer Identification: Check IDs to confirm customers meet legal age requirements for purchasing cannabis products.
- Maintain Security Protocols: Utilize guard certification to enforce store safety policies, handle potential conflicts, de-escalate conflict, and respond to emergencies if necessary.
- Assist with Queue Management: Manage customer flow during peak hours, ensuring an organized and efficient entry process.
- Uphold Compliance Standards: Ensure all activities adhere to state and local cannabis regulations, including security and customer verification procedures.
Requirements:
- California Guard Card certification
- Experience in a sales or Cannabis retail environment
- Desired: Knowledge of cannabis products and industry trends
- Reliable transportation, ability to come to work on time

Physical Demands:
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and occasional sitting
- Frequent use of hands and arms for scanning IDs, handling documents, and using computer systems
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs occasionally (signage, product boxes, etc.)
- Clear vision and hearing for security awareness and customer interaction
Mental Demands:
- Sustained attention to detail and focus, particularly when verifying identification or monitoring store entry
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously during peak hours
- Emotional resilience and composure in dealing with irate, impaired, or high-stress customers
- High level of situational awareness to detect irregular behavior or potential security risks
- Cognitive flexibility to adapt to evolving regulations, procedures, and store priorities

Pay Rate:
$21.00 per hour
