Mechanical Project Manager
Mechanical Contracting- Mechanical Construction- HVAC – MEP- Process Piping
Our client, an excellent mechanical contractor based in the Maryland/DC/Northern Virginia area, is seeking to add an experienced Mechanical Project Manager or Senior Project Manager to run MEP projects averaging projects ranging from a few hundred thousand to multi- million dollars. Compensation commensurate with experience.

Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of six (6+) or more years’ experience in mechanical construction/mechanical contracting
- Proven success managing large-scale commercial, industrial, institutional mechanical projects
- Strong command of project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, CMiC).
- Advanced understanding of mechanical drawings, submittals, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
- Primarily office-based with travel to project sites as needed.
- Demonstrated success managing larger mechanical construction projects (HVAC, Mechanical Systems, Process Piping, Industrial Plumbing projects)
- PMP certified a plus, not required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project Scheduling Tools
- Excellent leadership abilities
- Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of mechanical construction projects including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
- Develop and manage project budgets, forecasts, cost reports, and change orders.
- Oversee installations to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building codes.
- Communicate effectively with general contractors, owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Ensure timely delivery of equipment and materials; manage vendor relationships and procurement schedules.
- Monitor project profitability, labor productivity, and cost-to-complete reports.
- Identify potential risks, claims, and opportunities to optimize margins.
- Represent the company in professional meetings and promote repeat business opportunities.
- Manage all project control procedures
- Review, formalize, and approve documentation for the successful tracking of projects, including submittals, schedules, billings, requests for information, requests for change orders, change orders, project start-up, close out
- Manage work sequences, long lead items, procurement, and project schedules
