We are seeking a dynamic and technically proficient Director of Sales to join our growing automation solutions team. This role bridges the gap between engineering expertise and customer success. This is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex challenges, developing tailored solutions, and building strong client relationships. This position reports to the CEO.
Your Responsibilities:
Strategic Ownership & Market Leadership
- Own and drive the sales strategy for the U.S. market as a member of the cellumation US team
- Lead the establishment, footprint and expansion of cellumation Inc in North America, driving market entry and revenue growth from inception
- Develop and execute a scalable go-to-market strategy with the vision to build a high-performing U.S. sales organization over time
- Collaborate closely with German headquarters departmental teams (Product Management, Engineering, Operations) to align U.S. market needs with global strategy
Business Development & Sales Execution
- Leverage your established network in the warehouse automation and intralogistics industry to open doors with Tier 1 integrators, OEMs, and end customers
- Identify and develop new business opportunities through your industry connections and market insights
- Lead complex B2B sales cycles end-to-end, including solution design, pricing strategy, and high-level contract negotiations
- Work alongside German colleagues who support the U.S. market, while taking full ownership of U.S. customer relationships and strategy
Customer & Market Engagement
- Serve as the strategic point of contact for major accounts and C-level stakeholders, guiding them from initial concept through implementation
- Represent cellumation as a senior leader at industry events, trade shows, and customer executive meetings
- Monitor market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to shape the U.S. go-to-market approach
Your Profile & Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Automation, Business, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in sales leadership or senior sales roles within the intralogistics, warehouse automation, or material handling industry
- Proven, active network with key decision-makers at integrators, end-users, and technology partners in the U.S. market
- Demonstrated track record of building B2B portfolio with measurable revenue growth and gross margin contribution driven by new customer and user acquisition
Technical & Industry Expertise
- Deep understanding of automated systems (e.g., conveyors, sorters, diverters, robotics, and intelligent material flow solutions)
- Proven experience translating customer operational requirements into system structures, layouts, and automation concepts for intralogistics environments
Personal Competencies
- Entrepreneurial pioneer experienced in launching business from the ground up and establishing operations as the first on-site team member
- Strong strategic thinking combined with hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves execution capabilities
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills; confident leading discussions with C-suite executives and partners
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with international teams
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally to Europe for strategic alignment and team collaboration
