Speech Language Pathologists support early learners by assessing communication needs, delivering therapy, and collaborating with educators to ensure students can meaningfully participate in their school environment. This role plays a key part in building foundational speech and language skills for PreK students.
Position Details:
- Start Date: 3/23/26
- End Date: 5/25/26
- Schedule: M–F, school hours, 35 hours/week
- Grade Levels: PreK
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech and language assessments for PreK students to determine service needs
- Develop and implement individualized therapy plans based on IEP goals
- Provide direct therapy services in individual or small‑group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary team members to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress notes, and required compliance records
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal development
- Utilize evidence‑based practices to support communication, articulation, language, and social‑pragmatic skills
- Assist with early intervention strategies and classroom communication supports
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Connecticut SLP license and/or appropriate school certification
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Previous experience working with early childhood or school‑based populations preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and special education compliance
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and support staff
- Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills
