Director of Coaching
Soccer Shots- Madison, WI (Dane County)
$38,000 - $42,000 a year - Full Time
Soccer Shots is a non-competitive, character-focused soccer program that introduces soccer to children ages 2-8. We work on-site at preschools, daycare centers, and run public park programs in Dane County.
We are seeking a Director of Coaching who will be a part of our leadership team and create a fun and positive learning environment for children and our coaches through soccer.

This role will consist of working 5 days per week:
(Mandatory weekend AM Saturday shift / Sunday's AM preferred or on call), the other 3-4 days will be coordinated, but will need to be consistent. The annual salary is for 36-38 hours per week. There is flexibility with some hours being worked from your own home!
WHAT YOU NEED:
- Passion for sports, working with children, and fostering youth development.
- Professional: Neat in appearance; friendly and courteous with school staff and directors and parents; self-assured and confident.
- Enthusiastic: Must enjoy interacting with young children (28 years old); able to connect with children and communicate on their level. You must be very outgoing, animated, and able to be silly with the children.
- Previous experience in coaching, sales, or marketing, is preferred.
- Soccer or other athletic/sports experience: Soccer experience is desired, but no special coaching license is required.
- Reliable PERSONAL transportation and valid driver's license
- High School Diploma
- WI State-Required Clearances: Candidate must pass Department of Children and Families background check
- Eligible to work in the U.S. and must be at least 18 years old.
- CPR certified or willing to get certified
RESPONSIBILITIES (can include but are not limited to):
- Coaching:
- Safely manage a class of children. Class sizes vary by age and location.
- Implement our curriculum which focuses on skill and character development
- Coach Management and Development:
- Assist in recruiting, training, on-boarding, developing, and retaining coaches.
- Manage coaching staff. Direct contact for coaches.
- Manage Park Locations: Manage and oversee public program locations. Responsibility includes supervising coaches and being the point of contact for families.
- Marketing and Communications:
- Performing seasonal marketing/promotions - running program demos, distributing flyers, and setting up tables at schools and parks.
- Representing Soccer Shots at Free Fun Days, open houses, and other community and partnership events.
- Account Management:
- Responsible for helping with the management and relationships of schools and any new sites. Maintaining and enhancing school relationships.
- Administrative/Support:
- Create, print, and distribute promotional materials
- Prepare and keep a record of equipment sets and gear for instructors
- Prepare and distribute seasons prizes and certificates
Working Environment
- Hybrid role: office, remote, and on-field presence required
- Includes evenings and weekends based on program needs
- Territory travel required to support coaches and attend events
