Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW:
WSS is looking for a strategic and driven Senior Manager of Retail Marketing to lead omnichannel marketing initiatives that drive customer engagement, store traffic, and sales across our retail footprint. This role will focus on four core pillars: project management, media planning, CRM/loyalty strategy, and creative execution.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of the retail environment, a passion for footwear and fashion, and a proven track record of delivering marketing programs that bridge physical and digital experiences.
This position is in Gardena, CA with a hybrid work schedule in-office three times per week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Project Management
- Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of seasonal and evergreen retail marketing campaigns.
- Own timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination across internal teams (merchandising, creative, store ops) and external agencies.
- Ensure flawless execution of all initiatives with clear milestones, deliverables, and post-mortems.
2. Media Planning
- Collaborate with internal media and analytics teams to build localized, data-driven media plans focused on driving foot traffic and in-store conversion.
- Identify and execute regional and national paid media opportunities across OOH, print, digital, and social channels.
- Optimize campaigns based on performance metrics and customer insights.
3. CRM & Loyalty
- Partner with CRM and Loyalty teams to develop strategies that grow the customer base, increase retention, and drive loyalty engagement in retail environments.
- Leverage customer data and segmentation to personalize communications and in-store experiences.
- Support integrated campaigns that promote loyalty program benefits and exclusive member offers.
4. Creative Execution
- Collaborate with internal creative teams and external agencies to develop compelling, brand-right creative that brings marketing strategies to life in-store and beyond.
- Oversee the development of in-store signage, exterior murals, direct mail, digital assets, and local activations.
- Ensure all creative aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with our target audience.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s in marketing, communications and/or related field is preferred.
- 6-8+ years of professional experience, with significant leadership experience within retail industry, consumer goods, media agency or relevant organization.
- Bilingual in Spanish is required.
- Must understand multicultural communities and sensitivities of cultural norms, values and traditions. .
- Strong ability and experience with leading and managing multiple projects and influencing cross-disciplinary teams.
- Solid understanding of marketing processes and production methods across various media (TV, print, digital, social media, motion, spatial).
- A profile exhibiting thought leadership, curiosity and engagement in a creative/cultural/sports field.
- Exceptional communication & presenting skills: verbal, written, and interpersonal.
