Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive individual for a Shop/Facility Helper position. This role involves a variety of general labor tasks and is a contract-to-hire opportunity. The ideal candidate will assist with repairs around the facilities, including light construction, painting, and drywall. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for cleaning equipment as it comes in and goes out. A preference is given to candidates who are mechanically inclined and familiar with a shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with repairs around the facilities, such as light construction, painting, and drywall.
- Clean equipment upon arrival and before dispatch.
- Perform general labor tasks including disassembly and assembly.
- Engage in facilities maintenance and carpentry work.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively.
Essential Skills
- Experience with facilities maintenance and repair.
- Ability to perform general labor tasks, including cleaning and assembly.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with shop environments.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in a medium to large manufacturing facility.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance and facilities-related tasks.
- Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Contract-to-hire role with potential for long-term employment.

Work Environment
The position is based in a medium to large manufacturing facility where overhead cranes are fabricated from scratch. The shop comprises around 75 employees and operates in a non-climate controlled environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed boots is required.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
