Position Summary: Conducts quality inspections and tests to ensure that products meet company and customer quality standards and compliance requirements.

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday, 10:00 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. *Includes $1.50 shift differential.

Pay: Range posted. Pay dependent on applicable experience.

Essential Functions:

  1. Inspect raw materials, components, in-process and finished parts for conformance to specifications.
  2. Document inspection results by completing records and reports such as nonconformance reports, summarizing reworks and waste, and inputting data into quality databases (records).
  3. Utilize basic measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, semi-automated, and automated inspection equipment to perform inspections.
  4. Review product labeling, packaging, and stamp or tag product accordingly to identify it as conforming (acceptable) or non-conforming (NCR).
  5. Assist in the identification of root causes for quality issues and suggest corrective actions.
  6. Work closely with the production team to ensure quality standards are met at all stages.
  7. Follow company policies and adhere to ISO 9001, 13485, and FDA regulations in support of the QMS.
  8. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. 0-3 years of experience in a quality control or quality assurance role.
  3. Previous experience in injection molding or medical device manufacturing required.
  4. Basic knowledge of injection molding processes and medical device quality standards.
  5. Familiarity with basic measuring instruments.
  6. Strong attention to detail and organization.
  7. Basic working knowledge of MS Office, such as Excel, Word, Outlook and Teams.
  8. Previous experience using ERP systems.

Physical Requirements:

  1. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time and ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 30lbs.
  2. Good hand-eye coordination for handling delicate and intricate tools. Ability to perform repetitive tasks requiring precision, such as measuring dimensions of molded parts with calipers and other instruments.
  3. Good vision with or without corrective lenses for inspecting small details, including the ability to distinguish colors for certain inspections. Ability to clearly read digital and analog displays, inspection documents and quality charts.
  4. Ability to work safely with potential exposure to chemicals used in the injection molding process, following all safety protocols for handling and disposal.
  5. Adequate mobility to walk around the production floor and between the two buildings, bend, stoop, and reach upper shelves or elevated areas if needed.
