We are currently seeking an Ammonia Operator for our Henderson, KY Facility. This contingent assignment is expected to last approximately 7 months, with a potential for permanent placement. The role provides supervisory relief for the Ammonia production area, where you will utilize an instrumented control board and control station to monitor chemical equipment and processes. You will be responsible for ensuring that process conditions conform to plant standards of safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate commitment to environmental, health, and safety by complying with all EHS policies, wearing proper PPE, reporting unsafe work conditions or accidents promptly, and attending safety meetings and training.
- Exhibit positive behavioral qualities such as teamwork, dependability, approachability, and continuous learning.
- Train and demonstrate competency in all required operating procedures (SOPs) through the progression program.
- Attain and maintain competency in operations positions, including loading operator and heavy equipment operator.
- Conduct preventive maintenance procedures on trucks and truck loading stations.
- Work on docks and docked barges, including opening and closing barges.
- Monitor recording instruments, flow meters, panel lights, and other indicators, listening for warning signals to verify conformity of process conditions.
- Correct problems in a safe manner by securing equipment and preparing for maintenance according to safety and environmental policies.
- Communicate verbally and in writing to direct workers operating machinery that regulates material and product flow.
- Regulate or shut down equipment manually during emergencies as directed by supervisory personnel.
- Be vigilant of issues and conditions affecting fellow workers and report any environmental or safety concerns.
- Perform basic arithmetic operations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Essential Skills
- 1+ year of experience in production, construction, or shipping/receiving.
- 6+ months of experience with heavy equipment, forklifts, or heavy hand tools.
- Ability and willingness to operate equipment and perform general labor duties.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience operating small/mid-sized equipment.
- Experience with dry goods/materials and co-op type environments.
- High school diploma or GED certificate preferred; Associate Degree in process technology discipline is preferred.

Work Environment
The Henderson operation is small, with 13 full-time employees, located on the Ohio River. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions including cold, heat, and sun. The schedule is Monday through Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00/hr.
