Lead the overall operation of Colony Pool and set the tone for a safe, organized, and welcoming summer experience. The Pool Manager oversees daily operations, staff leadership, safety compliance, and program delivery while ensuring high standards aligned with YMCA values.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee daily pool operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Ensure compliance with state and local health and safety regulations
- Coordinate scheduling for lap swim, recreational swim, lessons, and events
- Supervise, train, and support lifeguards and seasonal aquatic staff
- Create staff schedules and maintain appropriate safety coverage
- Lead staff meetings, in-services, and emergency drills
- Monitor pool conditions, chemical logs, and facility readiness
- Respond to incidents and member concerns professionally
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, incidents, payroll, and certifications
- Foster a positive, family-friendly pool environment

Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Prior lifeguard and aquatic supervisory experience required
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Required certifications (or ability to obtain):
- Lifeguard
- CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer
- First Aid
- Lifeguard Manager or equivalent
- CPO Certification
- Knowledge of state and local aquatic safety regulations
- Proficient with basic computer applications
Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Extended time on pool deck
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Exposure to chemicals, water, and outdoor weather
- Ability to respond quickly and effectively in emergencies
