The Anesthesiologist role at our organization involves delivering anesthesia services for a diverse range of surgical and obstetric procedures. This position is situated within a teaching hospital environment, where collaboration with residents and Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) is essential. The role includes on-call responsibilities, supported by a dedicated team, and offers a competitive salary along with a comprehensive benefits package. Our organization is seeking to expand its team by adding an Anesthesiologist at our facility. The department handles an average of 160 cases weekly, supported by a proactive obstetrics team that conducted 1,580 deliveries in the previous year. The hospital features 8 main operating rooms, 2 cystoscopy rooms, 2 labor and delivery operating rooms, 2 endoscopy suites, and 1 interventional radiology room. The case mix is diverse, primarily focusing on routine procedures, but also includes cases in pediatrics, obstetrics, neurology, thoracic, vascular, orthopedics, ENT, and trauma. Our facility is conveniently located just 15 minutes from New York City and serves as an acute care teaching hospital affiliated with a prestigious medical college.

Opportunity Highlights:
- Two attending physicians manage main operating room cases, while a third focuses on labor and delivery.
- On-call duties are well-supported by three attending physicians available during nights and weekends.
- A minimum of four on-call shifts per month is required.
- Weekday on-call hours: 3 p.m. to 7 a.m. (16 hours).
- Weekend on-call hours: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. (24 hours).
- CRNAs and residents operate under a 1:2 supervision ratio.
- Approximately 40% of cases are performed independently, while 60% are under supervision.
- Anesthesiology residents from a local medical college rotate through the facility.
- Five residents graduate annually.
- Residents also participate in in-house call duties.
- Oral and maxillofacial surgery rotators contribute to the educational environment during the day.
Qualifications
- A valid medical license to practice in New York State.
- Experience with block placement in upper and lower extremities is preferred but not mandatory.
- Board eligibility or certification in Anesthesiology is required.
- Fellowship training is a plus.
Compensation and Benefits:
Annual Base Salary: $421,000* (board eligible); $431,000* (board certified), based on a 40-hour work week. Additional compensation is available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
The estimated total annual compensation package ranges from $600,000** (board eligible) to $610,000** (board certified), which includes the base salary, fringe benefits, sessional/per diem hours, and other factors outlined below:
- Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000***.
- Potential bonus of up to $40,000 (based on the previous year’s average), contingent upon achieving quality and productivity targets.
- 401(k) Company Contribution (subject to IRS limits):
- Employees are immediately vested in a 3% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.
- After one year of service, employees receive an additional 7% company contribution of base earnings, with no employee match required.
- Annual Continuing Medical Education (CME) reimbursement.
- Generous Annual Paid Time Off (PTO) including vacation, sick leave, holidays, and CME days.
- Comprehensive Medical, Prescription, and Dental Coverage with employee contributions significantly below market rates.
- Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD&D) Coverage equal to 2x your salary (up to a maximum of $300,000) at no cost to you.
