Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Workforce Advisor to support participants in accessing education, job training, and employment opportunities. This role involves managing a caseload of approximately 100 participants across multiple sites, helping them achieve and maintain economic self-sufficiency.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of about 100 participants across multiple buildings.

Conduct outreach, enrollment, assessments, and service planning for Workforce Opportunities (WfO) participants.

Develop and implement effective engagement strategies to maintain high participation levels.

Complete employment and educational assessments, updating service plans at least twice a year.

Identify and refer participants to job training, HSE, ESOL, adult literacy, and higher education programs.

Assist participants with resume and cover letter preparation, interviewing skills, and job readiness portfolios.

Collaborate with Employment Specialists to match participants with job leads via AWARDS and other platforms.

Support participants with independent job searches and direct employer referrals.

Provide job retention and follow-up services for a minimum of two years, including re-placement assistance if needed.

Access community resources to support job search and retention.

Attend case conferencing sessions, monthly team meetings, and supervisory meetings.

Maintain and update participant records in the AWARDS system within required timeframes.

Generate reports on participant progress, job readiness, and employment outcomes.

Provide services at up to two program sites as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned by the program director.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience in workforce development and service delivery to low-income individuals with barriers to employment.

Proven ability to help job seekers secure employment and reach retention milestones.

Strong collaboration, communication, and teamwork skills.
-
Must be able to travel throughout the five boroughs.

Proficiency in computer systems; experience with AWARDS software preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience working with individuals in mental health/substance abuse recovery or homelessness preferred.

Experience providing supported employment services to individuals with disabilities is a plus.
-
Familiarity with Motivational Interviewing and Person-Centered Planning is highly desirable.
