Registered Nurse RNPart-Time / Per Diem | Youth Residential Psychiatry Support
Metta Vita Health
Location: North Shore / Oahu, Hawaii
Setting: Pearl Haven Residential Facility
Schedule: Part-time / per diem, approximately 2432 hours/month
Employment Type: W-2, part-time / per diem
Compensation: $60$70/hour, based on experience and fit
About the Role
Are you calm, observant, organized, and comfortable supporting youth in a behavioral health setting? Do you notice patterns, ask thoughtful questions, and communicate clearly with a team?
Metta Vita Health is expanding its collaborative psychiatric care model through a partnership with Pearl Haven, a youth residential facility on Oahu. We are seeking a reliable, clinically grounded Registered Nurse RN to provide weekly onsite rounding and psychiatry-forward updates for youth in care.
This is a part-time / per diem W-2 role that may be ideal for an RN seeking meaningful supplemental or moonlighting work in a structured, team-based behavioral health setting.
The RN serves as a key continuity layer between PMHNP visits by checking in with youth, reviewing medication administration records, monitoring symptoms and overall functioning, gathering relevant updates from the care team, and communicating concise clinical observations to the PMHNP.
This role offers a balance of autonomy and collaboration. The RN should feel comfortable conducting structured onsite check-ins independently while also working closely with the MVH psychiatric team and Pearl Havens onsite nurse/medical coordinator and care team. A clear rounding structure, documentation/update template, orientation, onsite workspace, and ongoing support will be provided.
At Metta Vita Health, we believe strong care starts with strong collaboration, clear communication, and respect for each youths full story. Our work is thoughtful, whole-person centered, and grounded in a team-based model of care.
What Youll Do
- Conduct weekly onsite check-ins with youth at Pearl Haven
- Ask how youth are doing in the residential milieu, including peer dynamics, staff interactions, daily functioning, and adjustment to the program
- Review sleep, appetite, energy, mood, anxiety, attention, motivation, behavior, and overall functioning
- Ask about medication questions, perceived benefits, missed doses, medication concerns, and possible side effects
- Review MARs for adherence concerns, missed doses, refusals, PRN use, or trends needing follow-up
- Observe and report medication-related, behavioral, safety, or clinical concerns to the PMHNP as appropriate
- Coordinate with Pearl Havens onsite nurse/medical coordinator and care team including direct care staff, therapists, case managers, and other relevant team members to gather updates and communicate psychiatry-forward observations to the PMHNP
- Identify concerns that may require earlier PMHNP follow-up
- Send concise weekly updates to the PMHNP using the provided MVH update structure/template
- Complete timely weekly check-in documentation during scheduled hours
Training will be provided on MVH workflows, documentation expectations, weekly update templates, and processes for recognizing and communicating medication-related or clinical concerns to the PMHNP.
Who Were Looking For
- Active Hawaii RN license
- Current CPR certification required
- Experience in behavioral health, adolescent care, residential care, psychiatry, or care coordination preferred
- Strong observation, assessment, and communication skills
- Comfortable working within a defined nursing scope
- Able to work autonomously during onsite rounding while remaining collaborative, communicative, and responsive to team needs
- Able to notice patterns, ask thoughtful questions, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Calm, organized, dependable, and collaborative
- Comfortable communicating with residential staff, therapists, case managers, clinical staff, medical providers, Pearl Havens onsite nurse/medical coordinator, and psychiatric providers
