KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Promote good housekeeping & 5S by ensuring the workplace is clean and orderly.
  • Design templates and jigs to be used as work aids for the convenient fabrication of projects and parts.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and perform repairs on tools
  • Interface with external and internal customers, and work with team members to solve problems during the production process.
  • File and finish workpieces using the appropriate hand tools to ensure products are smooth and fit together properly.
  • Select the appropriate metals and materials to be used based on properties, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Examines blueprint of part for template, jig, fixture, or another tooling for building
  • Calculates unspecified dimensions and lays out design on assorted materials to establish and coordinate reference points and tooling holes, using measuring instruments, such as dividers and straightedges.
  • Sets up and operates a variety of machines and shop equipment to cut, shape, and finish materials to specified dimensions.
  • Join assembly components, using bolts, pins, clamps, screws, rivets, or other methods.
  • Repairs or reworks tools, draw sketches, and prepare detailed instructions for fabricating or machining to be performed by other workers.
  • Neatly route and secure various cables, hoses, and pipes to tooling
  • Mount and connect controls devices such as valve banks and multiport sensor blocks
  • Terminate field attachable wiring devices
  • Labeling of constructed units, devices, and cables
  • Set up and testing of tooling mounted controls devices to ensure the intended function
  • Perform quality checks on completed tooling modules
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of mechanical blueprint reading
  • Knowledge and understanding of electrical and pneumatic schematics
  • Strong team-focused, interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work extended or flexible hours as required to meet external and internal customer requirements
  • Willingness to work in various locations within and outside the facility
  • Ability to pay good attention to detail
  • Possess good human relation skills, and a maturity of judgment
  • Problem-Solving skills
  • Ability to operate and maintain all machinery and equipment in assigned area
  • Electrical troubleshooting of low voltage systems
