Covenant House Inc. is a community-based healthcare facility seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to become an essential part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments. The ideal candidate will be a vital member of the healthcare team and must have medical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to perform technical tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all administrative duties in a timely manner
- Perform routine clinical tasks to support medical staff
- Communicate with insurance companies for proper billing procedures
- Escort patients to exam rooms
- Take patient vital signs, such as blood pressure and weight
- Give injections or medications as directed by physicians
- Help with exams and procedures, such as EKGs and phlebotomy
- Prepare patients for exams
- Assist during medical treatments
- Schedule patient appointments
- Maintain and update patient records
- Follow up with patients regarding tests and procedures
- Work with insurance companies
- Answer phone calls from patients, physicians, and medical facilities
- Check patients in for appointments
- Manage the front desk
- Maintain inventory of medical and office supplies
- Set up equipment and instruments
- Sterilize instruments
- Clean and calibrate equipment
- Clean and stock exam rooms
- Provide instructions and test results
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of a Certified Medical Assistant
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in healthcare administration or other related fields
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Must be a team player with a natural inclination to help others
- Certification a must
