Job Description

This position involves working closely with the manufacturing engineering and product sales groups to design custom electrical schematics in compliance with electrical standards, UL, and NEC codes. The role requires programming skills in computer-based electrical and PLC design software, as well as designing and calculating burner, airflow, and electrical requirements. The candidate will provide startup and operational support, ensuring effective communication with customers.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in PLC Programming, specifically Allen Bradley.
  • Experience in electrical design with EPlan.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in electrical controls engineering.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens, AutoCad, Microsoft Office, Teams, Excel, Word, TeamViewer, and VNC Viewer.
  • Understanding of industrial electrical systems, components including PLC, VFD, sensors, and motor starters.
  • Knowledge of industrial refrigeration systems (NH3, CO2, Glycol, and other refrigerants).
  • Comprehension of burner systems, air flows, volume, pressure, dew point, and humidity control.
  • Fluency in computer use and digital communication.
  • Ability to work remotely.
  • Basic understanding of NFPA 70 code.
  • Basic math skills for engineering calculations.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Engineering or Technologies Degree preferred.

Work Environment

The position is based in a site in Medford, which does not involve any manufacturing activities. The site has about 30 employees, focusing mainly on sales and engineering, and is affiliated with a larger manufacturing site in Lakeview, IA, which employs around 150 people. The controls team consists of five members, with the manager primarily based in Iowa but visiting the Medford site 1-2 times a month. The company offers an attractive ESOP with a 15-20% annual payout and profit sharing paid bi-annually.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Medford, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
