Job Description
As a Mold Maker, you will be responsible for assembling molds and tooling according to specifications before they are sent to customers. You will ensure that injector pins fit perfectly, and if needed, grind and polish equipment to achieve the desired fit before delivery.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot tool problems in concept and on the shop floor.
- Perform conventional machining, including lathe work, turning, drilling, threading, tool sharpening, surface grinding, welding, drilling, tapping/threading, and polishing.
- Conduct spotting, timing, completion of details, and assembly of molds.
- Perform revisions, repairs, and upgrades to molds or dies.
- Operate all necessary machines and tools for mold or die build and repair functions proficiently.
- Review prints and programs to develop processes for job completion.
- Maintain the quality of parts through inspection and communication with teammates.
- Collaborate with designers, programmers, and assemblers to produce or repair necessary components.
- Identify process and equipment problems and suggest improvements.
- Work with apprentices to enhance their skill levels.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in polishing, grinding, mold making, and mold repair.
- Experience in tool and die, lathe operation, blueprint reading, troubleshooting, injection molding, and tooling repair.
- A High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mold making.
- Minimum of 3 years in manual machining including lathe, drilling, and threading.
- Minimum of 3 years in tooling assembly and repair, including polishing and grinding.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in mold making and assembly is preferred.

Work Environment
This role operates within a warehouse and manufacturing environment, which can be loud. Eye protection and other necessary safety gear are provided. You must wear close-toed shoes at all times. The first shift runs Monday to Friday from 6 am to 2:30 pm/4:30 pm, with occasional Saturdays. The second shift runs Monday to Friday from 2:30 pm to 10:30 pm or 4:30 pm to 2:30 am, with Saturdays from 11:45 am to 5:45 pm. The second shift has a smaller team size of about 20 people.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50000.00 - $66560.00/yr.
