POSITION SUMMARY:
Educate and train individuals on various aspects of information technology. This includes teaching students the fundamentals of computer hardware, software, networking, programming languages, and other IT-related subjects.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Delivering engaging IT courses and training programs.
- Designing and implementing lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Conducting classroom lectures, discussions, and practical demonstrations.
- Assisting students in hands-on lab exercises and projects.
- Providing guidance and support to students in understanding complex IT concepts.
- Evaluating student performance and providing constructive feedback.
- Keeping up to date with the latest trends and advancements in IT.
- Collaborating with other instructors and IT professionals to enhance the curriculum.
- Participating in faculty meetings and professional development activities.
- Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Other duties as assigned.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Will participate in all staff meetings
- Will send bi-weekly report to IT Department Chair
- Responsible for upkeep of Student Information Systems
- Responsible for upkeep of files
Requirements:
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Possess technology certifications or industry credentials.
Experience: Prior experience in teaching or training, either in an academic setting or in a corporate training environment. Practical experience working in the IT industry, strong verbal and written communication skills, effective time management, organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Empathy and the ability to adapt to induvial needs and the learning pace of students demonstrate professionalism, integrity and a commitment to ethical conduct.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Operating Systems such as Windows, macOS, knowledge of programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, understanding the basics of computer networks, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, routers, switches, and firewalls. Knowledge of Database management, knowledge of web development technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and frameworks like React or Angular. Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, cloud computing principles, and troubleshooting and problem solving. Proficiency in using educational technology tools such as learning management systems (LMS), online collaboration platforms, and multimedia presentation software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in IT instruction with classroom or virtual classroom environment.
- Must be comfortable with speaking and communicating advice, ideas, feedback.
- Ability to recognize weaknesses and develop plans to aid with instructional learning.
- Knowledge of workforce or industry trends in Central Ohio is highly recommended
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work a flexible schedule that could include some evenings for evening cohorts.
