Job Description
Job Description
Company: Ensminger Ag Construction LLC
Location: Princeton
Compensation: Starting at $40/hour — earn up to $100/hour based on performance
Schedule: Full-time, on-site
Audition Period:
This role includes an initial paid working “audition” period at $30–$35/hour. This allows both you and the company to confirm skill level, fit, and compatibility before transitioning into the full compensation structure.
About the Role:
We’re not looking for a clipboard supervisor. We’re looking for someone who understands how things were built before everything needed a machine—and still knows how to get it done today.
If you’ve ever:
- Used a come-along because it just made sense
- Understood leverage better than a manual
- Thought, “we don’t need a crane for this” (and been right)
- …you’ll fit in here.
This is the role for someone who wants to lead from the front, teach the crew real skills, and clock out without carrying the job home.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead small crews on agricultural and construction projects
- Work alongside your team—this is not a stand-and-point role
- Teach practical, efficient building techniques (including the “old ways”)
- Solve problems in the field using experience and common sense
- Keep jobs moving safely, cleanly, and efficiently
- Set the tone for work ethic, teamwork, and pride in craftsmanship
What You Won’t Do:
- Take work home
- Sit in endless meetings
- Get buried in paperwork
- Be responsible for everything once you leave the job site. When you clock out, you’re done. Period.
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong hands-on construction experience (framing, carpentry, general building)
- Experience leading or guiding a crew
- Sheet metal experience mandatory
- Someone who respects both modern methods and old-school techniques
- Natural problem solver—no overcomplicating things
- Willing to teach, lead, and help the crew win
- Reliable, steady, and takes pride in doing things right
Bonus Points If You’ve Ever…
- Used a come-along, chain hoist, or pulley system to move something heavy
- Helped raise a structure the old-fashioned way
- Said “give me a couple guys and we’ll get it done” — and did
Compensation & Benefits:
- Starting at $40/hour — earn up to $100/hour based on performance
- Overtime opportunities
- Performance-based bonuses
- 2 weeks Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Health insurance stipend
Why This Role Is Different:
This is leadership without burnout. You get the pay, the respect, and the ability to lead—without being tied to your phone at night or carrying stress home with you. It’s for someone who still loves the work, still enjoys being in the field, and wants to lead without living the job 24/7.
