Job Description

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for supervising the inspection, auditing, and reporting on materials, processes, and products. Using variable or attribute measuring equipment and techniques, the role ensures conformance with customer requirements. The Quality Supervisor may also serve as the FAA Chief Inspector.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and evaluate quality inspectors.
  • Ensure resources are adequately deployed to maintain timely throughput of product for delivery to customers.
  • Utilize typical metrology equipment.
  • Serve as an overflow inspector when volume requires, performing and recording inspection data associated with First Piece, First Article, Receiving, Final, and Work in Process Inspections/Audits.
  • Determine product suitability for shipment for the company and customer.
  • May serve as Customer Designated Supplier Quality Representative.
  • Support third party or second party source inspections.
  • Deal with customers and suppliers on quality or performance issues.
  • Work closely with Engineering on metrology-related issues.
  • Plan and work as a key member of the production team to ensure high-quality products and on-time delivery.
  • Perform internal quality system audits.
  • Assist with corrective actions.
  • Help determine gauge selection.
  • Assist in PFMEA and Control plan development and revisions.
  • Demonstrate competencies in a team environment with the ability to develop, coach, motivate, and supervise people.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in a quality assurance role within the aerospace and/or automotive industry.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Quality inspection or support role.
  • Competency with metrology equipment.
  • Competency with MS Office software.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly organized.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional quality training and/or ASQ certification preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates on a 1st Shift schedule, from 6:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with additional hours from 6:00 am to 10:00 am on Saturdays. The environment requires adherence to Company Corporate EHS Policy and specific safety protocols, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tempe, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
